Some folks in the Philippines have set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest coin mosaic. They built a 252.78 square meter mosaic using approximately 500,000 coins. The previous record was 156 square meters which was set in the United States. So how much money did the 500,000 coins total up to? It was 3.5 million Philippine Pesos (the currency of the Philippines) which amounts to about US$75,000. Here is a video about it.
The Philippines is named after a Spanish king, Philip II, from the 16th century. It is a country of islands (over 7,000), mountains, rainforests, hot & humid climate, coconuts, mangoes, volcanoes, typhoons, and lots of languages! Manila is its capital.
