B. B. King, a very famous guitar player and singer, died on May 14 at the age of 89. King was considered the most influential musician in a style of music known as the blues.
Blues is a musical style that originated amongst African-Americans in the United States more than a hundred years ago. One common pattern in the blues is three lines of singing, with the first two being almost the same and the third being different and usually a bit longer. Here is an example from a famous song by B. B. King:
Everybody wants to know why I sing the blues.
Yes, I say everybody wanna know why I sing the blues.
Well, I’ve been around a long time I really have paid my dues.
