Freddy Nock, a 50-year-old tightrope walker from Switzerland, set the world record for the “highest tightrope walk (ground supported)”. He walked between two Swiss mountaintops starting at a height of 3,532 m (11,588 feet) to 3,582 m (11,752 feet). It took him 39 minutes to walk a distance of 347 m (1,138 feet) on the tightrope. The previous record was set about 30 years ago with a tightrope walk between the towers of the World Trade Center in New York, USA.

The two American companies, H.J. Heinz Company and Kraft Foods Group, have decided to merge to create the company The Kraft Heinz Company. This merger will create the 5th largest food and beverage company in the world. A product that Heinz is famous for is its ketchup, while Kraft is known for its macaroni and cheese. This merger still has to be approved.

The music band One Direction has lost one of its members. Zayn Malik has left the band. The remaining four members will continue with the group. One Direction is based in the United Kingdom.

There was a spectacular display of the Northern (aurora borealis) and Southern Lights (aurora australis) on March 17 and 18 in some parts of the world. Here is a video showing the lights and another that explains the aurora.
