President of Indonesia

Joko Widodo (image) has been elected as the next president of Indonesia. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world and is made up of over 17,000 islands. Like its big number of islands, a large number of languages are used in the country (over 700). The country’s capital is Jakarta. Close to 90% of the population follows the religion of Islam. The equator runs through Indonesia. Komodo dragons, the heaviest lizards on our planet, come from this nation. They can weigh over 130 kg (300 pounds). Out of the approximate 1,500 known active volcanoes on Earth during the last 10,000 years, over 70 of them have been in Indonesia. Here are two videos about volcanos.
