Christmas celebrations already started in Venezuela

On November 1, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro announced an early start to Christmas celebrations in the country. Many activities were held in various cities of Venezuela to start these celebrations. Christmas is a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. In many nations around the globe, Christmas celebrations are held in the month of December. However, Maduro wants Venezuelans to have extra long celebrations because it makes people happy. Early bonuses will also be given out to people. Last month, Maduro created a new government agency called the “Vice Ministry of Supreme Social Happiness”. This government agency will manage programs to help people in need. Over 95% of Venezuelans are Christians.

On November 9, a Miss Venezuela won the Miss Universe title for the 7th time. Miss Universe is an annual beauty contest for women that has contestants from around the globe. This year, the competition was held in Moscow, Russia, and had women from 86 countries and territories competing for the crown.
