After a 16-day partial United States government shutdown, the whole of the government was back in business on October 17. On October 1, part of the government of the United States had shut down because of a lack of funds to pay all its employees and run many of its programs. This was because the folks in the government could not agree on a budget for the country for the next spending year. However, a deal was reached by government officials that has released money to fund the government until January 15.
