In August, the Oxford English Dictionary added new words to its online dictionary. Some of the entries were fashion-related such as “double denim” (definition: a denim jacket or shirt worn with a pair of jeans or a denim skirt). Another addition was a food that has recently become popular called “cake pop” (definition: a small round piece of cake coated with icing or chocolate and fixed on the end of a stick so as to resemble a lollipop). Some other words that were added were “selfie” (definition: a photograph that one has taken of oneself, and uploaded to a social media website), “phablet” (definition: a smartphone with a large screen), and “space tourism” (definition: the practice of traveling into space for recreational purposes).
