Cardboard Cathedral

A new cathedral, called  the Cardboard Cathedral, opened just this month in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. As the name describes, it has been constructed with cardboard. The cathedral can seat 700 people and is about 70 feet (20 meters) high. The Cardboard Cathedral is a temporary, low-cost cathedral. In 2011, an earthquake damaged an old cathedral called the Christchurch Cathedral, and the building could not be repaired. It was decided that a temporary cathedral will be built close to where the original cathedral stood until a new cathedral can be restored.
