The oldest known living person in the world, Dina Manfredini, an Italian-American woman, died on December 17 at the age of 115 years. She held the title for only 2 weeks. Jiroemon Kimura, a Japanese man, has now taken over the title. Kimura was born on April 19, 1897.
Kimura also holds the title of the “world’s longest-lived verified man in history”.The oldest known person who has ever lived was Jeanne Calment, a French woman who died in 1997 at the age of 122 years.
