The known oldest living person in the world, Besse Cooper from the USA, died on December 4 at the age of 116 years. Dina Manfredini, a 115 year old Italian-American, has now taken over the title. Manfredini was born on April 4, 1897. The oldest known person who has ever lived was Jeanne Calment, a French woman who died in 1997 at the age of 122 years (see image at age 20). Here’s an amazing fact – the world population has grown by over 5 billion people during Manfredini’s lifetime! Here is a website that estimates the world’s population in real time.
