Peace in the Philippines

After almost 40 years of conflict, the government of the Philippines and a group called Moro Islamic Liberation Front have signed a peace plan to start working together to resolve their differences. The group lives in southern Philippines and had wanted the area as its own country. According to the new peace plan, the southern part of the country will become a self-governed area run by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. There is still much work to be done and the nitty-gritty details have to be worked out between the two.
