More bikes than cars

People bought more bikes than cars in Italy in 2011.The country of Italy has been having some money problems since last year. The government of Italy accumulated a big debt. In order to decrease its spending, the country’s government has cut some jobs, increased taxes, and made other changes. Some Italians are struggling with less money, higher cost of living, and higher petrol prices. Many have chosen to go to the petrol-free and cheaper way of commuting on a bicycle. Italy is famous for its cars. Some of its famous brands are Ferrari and Lamborghini. The country has a very high rate of car ownership. For about every 100 people, there are around 70 cars.
