Film awards

The Venice Film Festival was held in (well, that’s easy) Venice, Italy. Pietà, a South Korean film about a cruel man who comes in contact with a woman who claims to be his mother, won the best film award called the Golden Lion. This film festival is the oldest in the world, and was started in 1932. Another famous film festival was also recently held. The Toronto International Film Festival was held in (well, that’s easy too) Toronto, Canada. An American film, Silver Linings Playbook, won the People’s Choice Award, the top honors at this Festival. The movie is about a teacher who is released from a mental hospital. This Film Festival started in 1976 and is held every year.
