A 43-year old Austrian man, Felix Baumgartner, jumped out of a capsule attached to a giant helium balloon from a height of about 18.3 miles (29.4 km) on July 25. His freefall lasted 3 minutes and 48 seconds, before he opened his parachute. He reached a speed of 536 mph (862 kmph) during his freefall. This was a test jump in preparation for his big jump from a height of about 23 miles (37 km). He is nicknamed “Fearless Felix”. You can watch the video here.
