Some new presidents

Presidential elections were held in the Dominican Republic. Danilo Medina won by a very small margin. His main opponent in the elections was Hipólito Mejía, a previous president of the country. Twelve years ago, both men had stood for the presidential elections, but the results at that time were reversed. Mejía had won. The flag of the Dominican Republic is the only national flag that has an image of the religious book the Bible within its flag.

Serbia also held presidential elections and Tomislav Nikolic (see picture) won. Do you like raspberries? You might enjoy a trip to Serbia – it is one of the largest producers of raspberries in the world!
